Breakfast breaks you'll love

Updated: Dec 6, 2020

Working from home? These days many of us are spending much more time at home, as we adjust to our new normal to stay safe and flatten the curve.

Morning commutes are a little more... well.. brief

If you're finding your work time and meal times merging, or are new to making breakfast at home, here are a few options that you can mix, match, and tweak to power up and start of your day.

“Power up the start of your day.”

POWER OATS: Cook 1 cup of oats and 1 cup milk (or a substitute like almond or oat milk) at a boil for 10-12 minutes (7-10 minutes for quick oats). Bring to a low simmer and add any kind of berries, 1 tbsp. peanut butter, 1 tbsp. agave or maple syrup, and a tsp of flax seeds. Stir and enjoy.

Tiny Tip: I know we are a bit more reliant on shelf-stable and freezer items right now. Feel free to use frozen berries. They will give you a bit of extra natural sweetness.

CHAMPION'S AVOCADO TOAST: Preheat oven to 350, toasting bread for 5 minutes. Spread 1/2 avocado on each side of toast. Here are a couple combinations you may love.

Classic: add sea a pinch of sea salt and chili flakes, garnish with micro greens

All American: Bacon crumbles (turkey or pork) and scrambled egg

By the Bay: a pinch of chili flakes with smoked salmon, garnish with red onion

THREE INGREDIENT PANCAKES: Mix two bananas, two eggs, and 1/4 cup of oats. Pour ingredients into a skillet, making flapjack size pancake. Give each side about 3 minutes on med heat.

Tiny Tip: Feel free to spice these up! Try topping with agave, berries, chocolate chips, chopped almonds, cinnamon, maple syrup, nutmeg, or chocolate chips. Any combo.. or all
